We are a dynamic, fast-paced, progressive office that supplies computerized bookkeeping services to our clients. Our clients are small to medium-sized Lower Mainland businesses that require hands-on bookkeeping.

We are looking for a people person, with exceptional full-cycle computerized bookkeeping skills.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years of Canadian bookkeeping experience
• Proven abilities with QuickBooks
• Excellent English communication skills – both oral and written
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
• Professional in dress and manner

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• T1 / T2 preparation experience
• Enrolled in or have completed CGA program

We are a dynamic, fast-paced and progressive office that provides financial and bookkeeping services. Our clients are fast-growing medium-sized businesses in a variety of industries.

Our ideal candidate is willing to learn and grow with the company. As you become more proficient in intermediate-level accounting, you will be expected to work with clients directly, prepare compilation engagement statements and various tax returns and reports.

Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle bookkeeping services
• Bank and credit card reconciliations
• Government returns including GST/HST, payroll and WCB
• Maintain A/R and A/P ledgers
• Prepare quarterly month-end report for management review
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns

Qualifications:

• CGA level 3/4 or equivalent
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• Able to travel to client offices and work independently
• Fluent in written/spoken English
• Proactive to client needs and deadlines
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good time management skills

The purpose of the workshop was to learn about what each member of your team is passionate about – in both their personal and professional life – and use those passions to motivate each person to perform at their best, resulting in a happy, productive work environment.

In discovering what works for each person, we also discussed what areas could be improved and how each person can contribute to the overall health and productivity of our work environment.

We all came out of the training knowing one another better and excited about implementing some of what we discovered to help our company be the best it can be!

The Province sent a photographer to our office to get a photo for the Sunday edition of the paper where they announced us as the winners of the contest. We snapped a few of our own while we were at it!

Stewart Irvine and David Long from Imogo came to our office last Friday to meet with us and discuss our existing IT setup and give us an overview of how cloud computing works. We have to say – it all seems very impressive and we can’t wait to see how it will help improve our office’s productivity!

Several weeks back, we saw an article in the Province about a company called Imogo who was holding a contest offering an IT Makeover worth more than $16,000 for the Grand Prize winner!

The contest requested entrants to tell how technology has helped their business over the years. In our company’s “lifetime” there have been major changes in technology that have affected how we complete our work, deliver our service and collaborate with our clients. Long gone are the days of 16-column worksheets and manual writing of financial statements! Ever-evolving software suites have made the bookkeeping process more efficient than ever.

We carefully crafted our technological tale and submitted it for consideration in the contest. Each week when we heard about one of the other prizes being given away, we were – perhaps, strangely – happy that we didn’t win. Our Managing Director said to our staff, “That just means that we’re going to win the Grand Prize!” And, sure enough, we did!

We received a call earlier this week notifying us that we had been selected as the Grand Prize winner for the contest. We are elated! We’re looking forward to working with Imogo as they make over our office’s IT infrastrcture.

The Province is running a follow-up feature article about the contest and our company, so watch for us in this Sunday’s edition!

She has been working with small to mid-sized businesses for the past 18 years.  Although numbers has been her game, her passion is people! She is a Clarity Coach and focuses on clearly defining business visions.  With a clear vision, it is easy to put a plan in place and reap the profitable rewards we are all in business for.
