3 Simple Ways to Increase Employee Motivation

Motivating employees can be a challenge for any business and it takes a true leader to find incentives that staff members will value. The SOHO web site published an article by Robert Cordray that discusses a few different approaches to employee incentives that may inspire your team to go the extra mile for your company, including:
- Cash Incentives – Robert suggests that any bonus given to an employee should be paid in a cheque separate from their normal pay. This helps them truly recognize the extra reward they’re receiving.
- Public Praise – Everyone enjoys a pat on the back for a job well done, but be sure that the praise you give is sincere and true. Offering kudos to deserving employees in public makes employees feel valued and their efforts appreciated.
- Tickets or Gift Cards – Many people find it difficult to achieve a good work/life balance, so rewarding staff with incentives that will make their time off more enjoyable is a great way to show appreciation.
